It is a new (2018), not yet completed 24 x 8 foot - 320 sq. foot (counting loft spaces) tiny home construction project and you have landed on the build journal..
So Let's Get Started!
My tiny house construction journey began with the turnover from the Builder of their "Standard Shell" shed model. That means I received the 24' trailer, framing and sheathing, siding and trim. Plus in my case awning windows, red metal roofing and roughed in plumbing and electrical wiring. My plan was to take it from there and complete the interior (a blank slate) - solo! Well, plus one companion : an opinionated, demanding, 4 legged, furry, feline friend.
OK, No big deal, you might say. Except for 2 things: 1) I have no tool, construction or engineering experience. and, 2) what the 2017- 2018 Farmer's Almanac said was to be a mild, warm, South East Winter ended right there - at the shell turnover day. It was as though a big Universal switch got flipped and the Universe turned on "the Winter cold". Our tent campsite is still thawing out.
So, why decide to dive into this home building challenge with zero home construction expertise, NO power tool knowledge OR electrical or plumbing system prowess and minimal fan (furry or otherwise) support? Great Question! How does, “to get to the other side” sound?

Beautiful December evening. Imperative to get caulking and painting done to protect the exterior.

Catio (cat patio) for furry friend took precedence Spring 2018 so we could move into warmer, solid digs. Weather still not warm enough for caulk and paint materials. The front TH face is still white!!.
July!!
Finally the Tiny Jade Dragon is covered in official Jade Dragon paint! Hard to believe it is already July. The interior has now gone through monumental changes.
