Big news in 2018 related to Tiny Home building codes (on foundations, but it's a start) ! Appendix Q (or V) in the International Residential Code was adopted, topics mainly deal with square footage and loft access. Dates and specifics are not mentioned about the ICC's next code development cycle, it just looks like the "Update Cycle" is every 3 years. Andrew & Gabriella Morrison were co-authors of the appendix and spearheaded the crowd sourcing to fund the effort. Theirs is definitely the site to watch.
